A gastric balloon is an inflatable device that is placed in your stomach for a limited time. The purpose is to make you feel full sooner so that you eat less.
The Allurion gastric balloon is an innovative non-surgical treatment. Allurion is the only gastric balloon that does not require surgery or anaesthesia for placement. The balloon is packaged as a pill that is swallowable so that placement can occurs during a standard consultation in our clinic. The balloon naturally breaks down and passes in a bowel movement on its own after about 4 months.

The Allurion gastric balloon is a medical procedure. Like all medical procedures, it may cause adverse effects. Clinical studies have shown the most common side effects are temporary abdominal discomfort and stomach upset. Serious adverse events are rare (reported in less than 0.34% of patients). Our team will review all possible side effects with you in detail prior to the procedure.
